Removing your record from Mugshots.zone

Site guide · mugshots.zone · checked 2026-08-25

Free removal with a working form — and 407 county subdomains, which is why people miss their own record here.

Mugshots.zone does not charge. It has a real removal form and a stated ten-day window. The reason people struggle with it is structural: the site is not one website but several hundred county subdomains, and the apex domain carries no form at all. If you looked at mugshots.zone and concluded there was no way to ask, you were looking at the wrong page.

What this site is

How removal actually works

Where

mugshots.zone/remove-a-listing/ — not the county subdomain your record sits on.

What it asks for

Proof of expungement, sealing, dismissal or nolle prosequi, a not-guilty verdict, or an attorney letter documenting the disposition.

How long

The site says up to 10 days, the same window BustedNewspaper states.

Before you file

Record the full subdomain URL. A request that names the wrong county subdomain is a request about a page that does not exist.

What the removal industry charges for this site

Six removal companies publish a Mugshots.zone page. None of them states a price on it.

One offers terms rather than a number: pay only for results, plus “a lifetime guarantee on all removals. If for some unforeseen reason the mugshot resurfaces on the same URL, we will remove it again for no additional fee.” Read the scope of that carefully — it is the same URL, not the same record, and this site republishes under new URLs.

The generic ranges published by vendors run $500–$2,500 per listing. None of those figures is attached to this site.

Where Google comes into it

No payment is demanded, so the exploitative-removal route is closed. If you are in Florida, the statute is the better lever: Fla. Stat. §901.43 bars a covered publisher from soliciting or accepting payment to remove a booking photograph and sets a formal removal process running ten calendar days from a compliant request, with injunction penalties of $1,000 a day and $5,000 a day for republication. We are not aware of any enforcement action against this site under it.

What we would charge you for, and what we would not

Common questions

Why is there no removal form on mugshots.zone?

There is, but it is at /remove-a-listing/ on the apex domain, while your record lives on a county subdomain. The subdomains do not carry the form.

Does Mugshots.zone charge?

No. Nothing in its removal process asks for money, and in Florida charging you would be unlawful under §901.43.

Is it the same company as BustedNewspaper?

Not established. Four pieces of infrastructure line up — registrar, privacy proxy, Cloudflare nameserver pair, and an identical removal path and time window — and a vendor asserts common operation. Nobody has pierced the privacy proxy on either, so this stays corroboration.

What if my case was not dismissed or expunged?

The published grounds do not cover you, which means the request has to be made on other footing — a statutory demand where your state has one, or a factual error in the listing. That is the work worth paying for.

Try the free route first

Google removes your phone number, home address, email and — since February 2026 — government ID numbers at no cost through its own tool. More than 10 million people have used it. It does not cover arrest records, so it will not touch the listing on this page, but it is free and worth running before you pay anyone for anything.
