MugshotLook is operated by Infomatics LLC and is registered with the California Attorney General as a data broker. That single fact changes the shape of the problem: a registered data broker carries obligations under California's privacy laws, and the opt-out is free and self-service. This is not a mugshot appeal. It is a deletion request, and you do not need a court document to make one.

It also publishes considerably more about you than a booking photo, which is the part people underestimate.

What this site is

The operator is named and locatable: Infomatics LLC, Woodland Hills, California, registered with the California Attorney General as a data broker since 15 July 2021 under registration number 542906. Being on that register is a legal status with duties attached.
It has a sister property. The same registration routes deletion requests through privatereports.com, and at least one privacy service publishes a single combined opt-out guide covering both. Opting out of one and not the other leaves the record standing.
It publishes well beyond arrest data — reported categories include social media photos and account details, bankruptcies, criminal records, contact details, relatives, current and past addresses, employment, coworkers and neighbours. The booking photo may not be the worst thing on the page.
Its Better Business Bureau profile carries a D+ rating with 21 complaints and a recorded failure to respond to one. That is not a legal finding, but it is a data point about how requests get handled.
The domain was registered on 23 July 2020 through Namecheap. Traffic estimates from two industry sources disagree by orders of magnitude, so treat any reach figure you are quoted with suspicion.

What the removal industry charges for this site

No mugshot-removal firm quotes a price for this site, because the removal is free and self-service. Coverage comes from subscription privacy services instead.

One of those services was checked in August 2026 and confirmed the site's own removal route carried no stated fee.

Subscription prices exist — one widely covered service starts around $129 a year — but those buy coverage across hundreds of brokers, not access to this one. Paying a per-record fee for this site specifically would be paying for something available free.

Where Google comes into it

Not eligible under the exploitative-removal policy, since no payment is demanded.
